It's kind of disheartening to know that most of the commenters so appalled to witness what's a common, bipartisan reality for likely millions of Americans wouldn't bat an eye if Ms. Merten had lived...because she'd be one of millions (like me), her story thus reliant on her "cop-hating" hearsay instead of the snuff-style CCTV that her daughter likely struggled to obtain...let alone emotionally process. This is currently happening to hundreds of thousands of Americans, it could easily happen to any of our loved ones, and the only way to begin dismantling that system is for the general public's complacency (and distracted inner-bickering) to stop.

Ben was such a beautiful soul. That smile says it all. I know that peaceful feeling. I was somewhere not in this universe and their were clouds that would light up like lightening when they'd talk but it wasn't audible it was like speaking in my head not ears.
