Selma is my hometown ... as I look at the drone footage of damage I'm in agreement with these folks that Selma is now unrecognizable. As the drone is hovering the city, I'm having a hard time trying to distinguish exactly where its flying over, and I know those Selma streets extremely well. I was home for a week back in August and I told my folks that Selma was due for a massive gentrification project, because the property values were so low and given the rich history of Selma with the Bloody Sunday march and the Edmund Pettus Bridge there, I believed that someone or some organization/industry would come and do some major reconstruction of homes, schools, churches, shopping/retail and jobs in the area. I guess this disaster is a blessing in disguise because now we can get things that should have been cleaned and done away with for years taken care of now. I'm praying for Selma, I'm praying for all those affected, and I'm praying that Selma will continue to live on and hopefully get back to "normal".
