The Camaro returned as the hero car in the Transformers movie and had a pretty successful run since then...well up until the last few years when it got possibly the worst refresh I’ve ever seen. As a muscle car you’re supposed to do 2 things: be loud and look cool and since it’s fallen short in one of those categories its sales have been about half of it’s main competitor, the Ford Mustang It probably won’t surprise anyone then that at the end of the lifescycle in 2024 the Camaro will likely go away There is an opportunity to extend that life to 2026 if the demand exists, but based on current numbers it doesnt look like that’ going to happen. So the muscle bound V8 alpha platform Camaro we know will cease to exist, but it will be reborn in...you guessed it an EV. This won’t surprise anyone either as GM has made it very public their intent to move their full retail lineup to EV by 2035 so getting the Camaro a headstart isn’t the worst thing in the world. But here’s why you might be a little peeved. The intent is becoming more anre more clear to transition the Camaro form 2 door muscle/pony car to 4 door performance sedan as it moves to EV Moving a historic nameplate to something softer and more pedestrian… sounds familiar doesn’t it? But when we stop and think about this it starts to make more sense. Let’s reference the Hummer EV. It’s built on the Ultium platform and uses the Ultium battery co-developed with LG In the hummer EV it cranks out 1000hp and jumps to 60 in 3 seconds...but it’s 9000 lbs Think about that kind of power in a smaller lighter sedan And if you can’t have a roaring V8, what’s more muscle than 1000 hp PLus this isn’t completely out of left field Sure, the Ford Mustang has 1 generation if ICE scheduled before it goes EV, but we just heard from Dodge, the current kings of muscle that their Charger and Challenger cars will have a future as EVs So with that in mind, Chevy is almost lucky no one wants the Camaro right now because it kind of forces them into develpoing the EV variant first and the car will develop from there Sotheoretically, by the time the Mustang and He;;cats get on the scene the Camaro will have the high ground - Follow Downshift to see what's coming next! An electric performance sedan rumored to be an effective substitute for the Camaro with two doors. It may keep the Camaro nickname, as Chevrolet has just applied the Blazer moniker to a crossover that has no similarity to earlier models. Over the next 13 years, parent company GM will switch all of its brands, including performance models, to electric cars. Changing the Camaro from a two-door sports car to an all-electric four-door sedan would be a smart move for the brand, but it wouldn't be the first time it's been done. If Ford can use the Mustang name for a four-door electric crossover, then a four-door Camaro sedan doesn't seem out of the question. The rumor about a Camaro sedan doesn't have a set date, but it's said that it wouldn't come out until sometime after 2024, since the current Camaro will be around at least until then.

👋 The new ZL1 Camaro is a BEAST!! 2023 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 has all the luxuries and all the performance! Today lets check out the new 2023 Chevy Camaro ZL1 with the manual transmission! Listen to that amazing sounding 6.2L V8! Full walkaround and review of the all new 2023 Camaro! This is the newest generation of the Chevy Camaro and is a nice daily drivable two door sportscar! The ZL1 is an awesome trim level that is pretty much the top trim level for the Camaro and you can even ad the 1LE package for a few more goodies! The 2023 Camaro looks great and has an aggressive front end design. It really is a car you need to see in person to appreciate. The rear end is very bold and has a modern look especially with the three dimensional tail lights. I also like how the 2023 tail lights are not red, the clear lens looks great! Seriously, the front bumper is so sick! The V8 models have a different design than the V6 and turbo 4. All look so good in person. The black exterior paint looked so clean with the wheel color and really shows off the brand new 2023 design! Overall I think the 2023 Chevrolet Camaro is a nice car with a lot to offer. It was comfortable, roomy, powerful and looks great! This 2023 Camaro ZL1 review goes over the entire car from inside and out. The interior of the 2023 Camaro was well laid out with minimal buttons with a clean look and feel. Recaro bucket seats add a great touch of performance. And all of the leather and alcantara give it that sporty vibe. Test driving the 2023 Camaro ZL1, the car drove great and has plenty of power. The 2023 V8 Camaro had an amazing exhaust sound too! Sounded great going through the gears. 2023 Camaro ZL1 exhaust also sounded amazing! There were some nice pops and gurgles on the overrun! The manual transmission was easy to drive! The clutch pedal is light and the shifter has great feedback to it! This Camaro also has the recommendation for skipping gears to help save on fuel which is interesting to see! Starting with the Mustang, it’s powered by a 5-litre V8 which has had a supercharger added to it, and as a result, it can now deliver 735hp & 690Nm of torque. It’s rear-wheel drive, and it weighs in at 1,775kg. Next up it’s the Chevy, which is housing a 6.2-litre V8 up-front which has also had a supercharger added to it. It can therefore deliver 650hp & 600Nm, and just like the Mustang, it’s rear-wheel drive. It’s a fair bit lighter, though, weighing in at 1,656kg. And then finally we have the Challenger. It’s powered by a 6.4-litre V8 which has had (you guessed it…) a supercharger added to it, and it’ll put down 650hp & 600Nm, exactly the same as the Camaro! It’s also RWD, but it’s the heaviest car here, weighing in at 1,900kg. So how’s this going to play out - surely the most powerful car has to snatch the win, right? This is the newest generation of the Chevy Camaro and is a nice daily drivable 2 door sportscar! The 2SS is an awesome trim level! The 2021 Camaro looks great and has an aggressive front end design. It really is a car you need to see in person to appreciate. The rear end is very bold and has a modern look especially with the three dimensional tail lights. I also like how the 2021 tail lights are not red, the clear lens looks great! Seriously, the front bumper is so sick! The V8 models have a different design than the V6 and turbo 4. All look so good in person. The Wild Cherry Tintcoat exterior paint looked awesome and really shows off the brand new 2021 design! Overall I think the 2021 Chevrolet Camaro is a nice car with a lot to offer. It was comfortable, roomy, powerful and looks great! The interior of the 2021 Camaro was well laid out with minimal buttons with a clean look and feel. Test driving the 2021 Camaro SS, the car drove great and has plenty of power. The 2021 V8 Camaro had an amazing exhaust sound and it popped so much! Sounded great going through the gears. 10 speed automatic transmission was pretty responsive and a lot of fun to use.
