Chiang Khan is a beautiful little town on the Mekong River in the Loei Province of Isan Thailand 🇹🇭 We are staying in ban hao guesthouse which is literally a 1 minute walk from the Mekong Riverfront Street here in Chiang Khan, I take you in real time through the streets and show you how beautiful this town is on the Thailand Laos border! For breakfast we visited a legendary spot that's been selling a fermented pork dish for over 50 years the aunty was absolutely lovely. The food here was a highlight of our time in Chiang Khan it was honestly fantastic. ร้านแหนมคลุกป้าแห่ว 🤍 We then headed into town down the famous walking street for some coffee and more chiang Khan classics, a minced pork filled fried dough and an eggs/vietnamese sausage pan dish. I then grabbed a laos style baguette before heading down to the riverfront again to soak in the amazing views of Chiang Khan. Now we don't usually eat crisps atall but we knew we had to try the miang Kham lays seem as miang Kham is one of our favourite foods in Thailand, I have to say they tasted pretty good although I'd much rather just eat miang Kham. We finished the day off by heading out on a boat cruise with the local fisherman we spoke to earlier that day, for 300 THB we headed out for over an hour cruising down the Mekong here in Chiang Khan, we watched the sun go down over the laos jungle then headed back for some rest! Chiang Khan and the Loei province in general is so underrated its one of the most beautiful places I have ever been we love this town 🇹🇭❤️ Please 'Like' the video and 'Subscribe' if you enjoyed watching. Chiang Khan is a small peaceful town in Loei province in Northeast Thailand, located on the bank of the Mekong River with Laos on the other side of the river. Chiang Khan is an old town and a very popular destination for Thai tourists. The town is famous for its simple wooden houses adapted to be guest houses, coffee shops, and souvenir shops. Chiang Khan is a compact town so you can just hire a bicycle and ride around the town visiting all attractions. There are several temples presenting the art of Lanna and Lan Chang in Chiang Khan. The town is also typified by local people and tourists giving alms to the Buddhist monks very early in the morning, ritual that can be seen in Luang Prabang, Laos. The Walking street is on Chai Khong Road, which runs parallel to the Mekong River and is separated from it just by one line of wooden houses, is the main tourist attraction in Chiang Khan. Rows of teakwood buildings, housing small restaurants, bars, shops and guesthouses, lines the street. On weekends Chai Khong Road becomes the Walking Street and fills up with crowds of visitors. Clothes, local arts and crafts are sold at the shops and some really authentic goods can be found here. We arrived in beautiful Chiang Khan in the province of Loei. Yes we finally made it to Isan the northeast region of Thailand that receives the least tourists! We couldn't wait to explore however we were absolutely knackered after a very long 24+ hours travel day from Lampang with no sleep atall. Despite this we headed out to the famous chiang Khan Walking Street night market for some cheap Thai Street food and to just check things out! Grabbed a laos style baguette which was delicious before getting some traditional Isan style grilled sticky rice and sausage to eat with fresh chilli's and ginger delicious! We started to head down the walking street which was extremely busy but the atmosphere was great, we got some fresh whole grilled baby prawns on a stick aswell as some coconut worms which were interesting. Leesh got a coco chocolate drink which we keep seeing here in Thailand and I got some strange needle mushrooms wrapped in chicken and grilled over charcoal. We then had some free local coconut sweet samples that they make here in Chiang Khan before getting some sundried fried pork. We got some more tasty sausage before escaping the madness and finding somewhere to hide away from the huge crowds. Here at the chiang Khan Walking Street we also met some amazing subscribers, If you see us don't forget to say hi we love to chat. Then we finished the night back at our guesthouse with a massive mango sticky rice for only 50 THB. Drone footage covering the top attractions in Loei and Chiang Khan (Isaan/Northeastern Thailand including the Walking Street (Chai Khong Road) and main tourist area and attractions better known as Walking Street, which runs parallel to the Mekong River and Laos. Chiang Khan here in the Loei province of Isan Thailand has an amazing cycle path down the Mekong River so we though we would go check it out! We took some bicycles from our guesthouse-all guesthouses seem to offer them for free and set off on a journey in Chiang Khan. The cycle path in Chiang Khan is so beautiful the views of the Mekong River just do not get old and you pass little Buddhist temples it's really something special we loved it so much. We came across a bend in the Mekong River and here there was a huge local Thai Market at the rapids area with food and souvenir shops! Before we checked out the market we got some delicious refreshing coconut waters for 10 THB each then headed down to the banks of the Mekong River, I released some fish into the river to join in with the local people and get my feet wet in the Mekong. We then had some fun in the local market, the people here were as always so friendly which is what you'd expect from thai people! We bought some little bits and some sweet treats before getting an incredible fresh fried prawn cake for 50 THB, this thing was huge and had just been fried it was heaven. To me Chiang Khan here in the Loei province is one of Thailand's Greatest hidden gems I bloody love it here 🇹🇭 you can have a proper little adventure. Chiang Khan est une vieille ville et une destination très populaire pour les touristes thaïlandais. La ville est célèbre pour ses maisons en bois simples adaptées pour être des maisons d'hôtes, des cafés et des boutiques de souvenirs. Chiang Khan est une ville compacte, vous pouvez donc simplement louer un vélo et faire le tour de la ville en visitant toutes les attractions. Il y a plusieurs temples présentant l'art de Lanna et Lan Chang à Chiang Khan. La ville est également caractérisée par la population locale et les touristes qui font l'aumône aux moines bouddhistes très tôt le matin, rituel que l'on peut voir à Luang Prabang, au Laos. La route de Chai Khong , parallèle au fleuve Mékong et séparée de celle-ci par une seule rangée de maisons en bois, est la principale attraction touristique de Chiang Khan. Des rangées de bâtiments en teck, abritant de petits restaurants, bars, boutiques et chambres d'hôtes, bordent la rue. Le week-end, la route Chai Khong devient la rue piétonne et se remplit de foules de visiteurs. Des vêtements, des objets d'art et d'artisanat locaux sont vendus dans les magasins et des produits vraiment authentiques peuvent être trouvés ici. Diverses spécialités locales sont proposées dans les restaurants et les stands de nourriture de rue de Walking Street. L'une des principales attractions d'une ville paisible de Chiang Khan est la promenade au bord du Mékong . C'est un endroit idéal pour se promener dans une atmosphère calme, en profitant de la vue sur le puissant fleuve et les forêts du côté du Laos . Chiang khan little known Mekong river side town in Thailand is full of traditional timber shophouses is still far from ruined, The photogenic views of the river and the Lao mountains beyond are spectacular as are the old buildings, and things remain peaceful Chiang khan walking street is probabily the only attraction in the city ,Typical night market thai style with lot of street food , coffee shops very nice old wooden houses that has unique architectural designs are in a remarkable state of preservation, The chiang khan street starts at 6.00 pm on wards and remain open until mid night , the best time to visit between 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm
It was our last day here in the beautiful mekong River town of Chiang Khan here in the chilly province of Loei Thailand 🇹🇭 We headed out at half 5 in the morning in a tuk Tuk to Phu Tok! A mountain here in Chiang Khan that has a very special view. We arrived at the base of the mountain and bought tickets for the return truck shuttle to the top for 40 THB each, once at the top it was still pitch black and there was quite a lot of people there for a Monday! Now the good part we found a nice little spot and watched the sun come up slowly revealing the most beautiful sunrise I've ever seen here in Thailand, the daylight revealed a huge thick sea of clouds below us the views were honestly phenomenal! We then headed back to Loei town, our tuk Tuk friend Chang took us there and back for 100 THB each, once back we had some very special noodles, noodles that have been made for over 70 years by 3 different generations, they were a hybrid of sukiyaki, Tom yum and yen ta fo and id say they were some of the tastiest I've had in all Thailand seriously. Then we got our bicycles from the guesthouse and headed out into the countrysides on a mission to find some temples and meet nice thai people. We found a temple on the top of a hill with absolutely nobody there, it was again just an amazing experience exploring unknown small sites, the views here were crazy over the town of chiang Khan and the Mekong and also into Laos! We spent the afternoon cycling through these rural thai countryside roads enjoying the nature this part of Thailand has to offer, Isan is such an amazing place I have no idea why tourists don't visit the northeastern region.... I was staying at Phu Tok Resort in Chiang Khan Isaan in winter this place has about 10,000 to 20,000 people staying per night. The mountain in morning is so beautiful.
