Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Manuel Lettenbichler has claimed victory at the opening round of the FIM Hard Enduro World Championship in Serbia. Cementing a strong performance with victory on the third and final Offroad Day, Lettenbichler topped the overall Xross Hard Enduro Rally podium. Putting the finishes touches to a super-strong week of riding, Sherco Factory Racing’s Mario Roman was second, while ECONT Bulgaria’s Teodor Kabakchiev grabbed the final step of the event’s outright podium. In the FIM Hard Enduro Junior World Championship supported by KLIM, Rigo Racing’s Matthew Green secured victory over TTR Squadra Corse’s Mitch Brightmore in second, with Robert Crayston (Baydale D3 KTM) in third. After three days of racing, the first round of the FIM Hard Enduro World Championship at Xross Hard Enduro Rally was brought to a close in thrilling fashion with Offroad Day 3. The 2023 Xross Hard Enduro Rally, the opening round of the 2023 Hard Enduro World Championship, took place in the beautiful mountainous region of Zlatibor, Serbia. Mani Lettenbichler of Red Bull KTM emerged victorious, making it a back-to-back win at the Xross Hard Enduro Rally. Despite a commanding 25-minute lead, Mani set a blistering pace throughout the final day's race. Leading from the front and displaying exceptional skills, he proved yet again why he's dominated the last four Romaniacs. Taking the win 2:37s ahead, Mani was delighted: “Taking the overall win for the second time at Xross, I’m overwhelmed.” Bulgarian rider Teo Kabakchiev battled hard on the final day, showing his fitness and grit to land the third place on the podium. After overcoming initial bike setup issues, Teo fought his way up: "Today was a battle, four guys were really close on time for third place. I gave my best and rode as good as I can and got it done." Mario Roman, finishing eight minutes behind Lettenbichler, secured second place overall: "Today was an amazing day riding in good conditions. The first two hours were really technical and it was pretty intense. In the afternoon, I took it more easy to secure second place." Trystan Hart and Michael Walkner also showed exceptional skills and determination throughout the rally. Despite a few ups and downs, Trystan finished a fighting fourth overall: “My sights are now set on the biggest extreme event of them all at Erzberg next.” However, it was a tough rally for Billy Bolt, whose bike began to fail under pressure on the final day. Despite these issues, Billy remains positive: "I’ve got a lot of positives to take from the race, I’m really happy with the way I rode and how the bike is working but in the end, it wasn’t meant to be.” In the Junior category, it was an exciting race with South African rider Matty Green taking the win, closely followed by two Brits, Mitch Brightmore and Robert Crayston. ACU’s British Extreme Enduro Championship 2022 season debuted with Round 1 Tong with more than 150 competitors including world hard enduro champion Billy Bolt. Heavy rain cold weather made it really hard for everyone but the enthusiasm kept us all warm enough to hang in. This year’s Tong surprised us with a track update to the conventional one that we knew over the years. With the new format the track got longer with really nice bits but it kept signature sectors like the tricky waterfall. PM race started 12:30 local time and the challenge continued for two and a half hours. Billy Bolt had a good start and started stretching his lead but early in the race he lost his front brake. Welcome to Part 1 of Off-Road Day 2 at the Xross Hard Enduro Rally 2023, held in the scenic and challenging terrains of Zlatibor, Serbia. This video covers the first half of the second day of the event, which saw participants battle tough rocky stream sections, described as "brutal" by competitor Mario Roman. Billy Bolt, who started the day with a 43-minute deficit due to a navigation error the day before, displayed strategic acumen and exceptional skill, maneuvering from 10th place towards the top. Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Manuel Lettenbichler took a convincing win on the opening offroad day at round one of the FIM Hard Enduro World Championship in Serbia. The defending world champion showed true class in wet and rainy conditions to end the first full day of racing at the Xross Hard Enduro Rally as the race leader. Mario Roman puts in solid ride for second. Behind Manuel Lettenbichler, it was all change after the seventh timed sector. A navigation error by Bolt dropped him out of the running for second and opened the door for Sherco Factory Racing’s Mario Roman to capitalise. Welcome to the first round of the British Extreme Enduro 2023 Championship! In this exciting race, some of the best riders in the UK competed for the top spot in a muddy and challenging course. The cloud cover made for perfect racing conditions, and the competitors didn't disappoint. As the organizer of this event, Will Hoare did an incredible job making sure everything ran smoothly. With all the rider spots filled and a large crowd of spectators, this race was a true success from start to finish. After a fierce battle, Billy Bolt emerged as the winner, with an impressive performance that showed why he's one of the most talented rider in the country. Mitch Brightmore and Dan Peace also had great runs, finishing in 2nd and 3rd place respectively. Unfortunately, Jonny Walker suffered a crash in the last lap that took him out of contention for the podium. Before the accident, he was doing great, showing off his skills with a 2 stroke 200cc Beta. Despite the setback, Jonny still managed to finish in 4th place, a testament to his determination and resilience. Billy Bolt has it all to be the G.O.A.T. hard enduro rider and we are witnessing some superhuman moments while watching him. He started to his hard enduro career at Erzbergrodeo 2016 (P5) as a teenager and only after a couple races he signed to Husqvarna Factory in 2017. The Hard Enduro Heroes docu-series follows the six-round Premier Championship of the 2023 🤍IRCTireUSAMoto US Hard Enduro Series, Presented by 🤍KLIMMotorcycle. These six episodes, documented by 🤍skypixelmedia, will tell the stories of the hard enduro athletes that compete on the gnarliest race courses in the United States. The Battle of the Goats in Taylorsville, NC was Round 3 of the USHE Premier Championship and Round 2 of the AMA East Hard Enduro Series, Presented by 🤍IRCTireUSAMoto. The Battle of the Goats has been running since 2015, and has gotten tougher and tougher each year since. It took a year off in 2022, but the promoter, Tyler Mull, was excited to welcome everyone back to bigger and harder course than ever before. It rained right before the races started, which completely changed the courses and at least doubled the difficulty of the terrain here at the Brushy Mountain Motorsports Park. This race consisted of two lap race on a 17 mile loop, and an added section for the second lap. 🤍trystanhart84 continued his dominance, pushing hard and winning by six minutes. 🤍codywebb2 and 🤍ryderleblond jockeyed for the second position, but Webb ultimately pulled ahead and began to creep up on Hart on the second lap. For Round 2, Headless Rider Extreme Enduro 2023, an absolute test of grit, skill, and endurance, played out on the slippery slopes of the Italian forest. This year, the riders were met with treacherous wet conditions, which made the race as challenging as the infamous Romaniacs. The first gold race proved to be a disaster for many competitors. The forest track turned into a mud bath, with countless sections so challenging that even the best gold riders found themselves stuck and battling to make headway. 🤍 Are smaller two strokes good for hard enduro? A very interesting ride! Our group was at the bottom of this hill, wondering if we should find any easier track. Then Scott rode his KTM 200EXC up this difficult track with few problems. How embarrassing for us on the 250 and 300 two-strokes. Occasionally viewers ask if small two-strokes are good for hard enduro? (Small = 125, 150 or 200 dirt bike) Into enduro riding? See all our dirt bike videos for dirt riding tips. Our channel now had hundreds of dirt bike videos covering reviews, and enduro riding techniques, even for 150 enduro bikes or 200 dirt bikes. Search our channel for dirt riding gear too. Our dirt riding tips also include wider topics such as the best dirt riding boots. Generally the answer is no for a 125 dirt bike. The 300cc two-stroke is the most popular motorbike for hard enduros for various reasons. It has the most torque at low revs so it's harder to stall. It takes less energy and clutch technique in gnarly terrain. It has the best power-to-weight ratio. It will generally be the most reliable engine. But! As always, it is 80% the rider, 20% the bike for the 150 dirt bike or 200 enduro bike. A good rider on a small two-stroke can still ride very competitively in a hard enduro. Shane Watts proved this many years ago by winning the world enduro championship on a 125 dirt bike.The one two fives. Rev to the moon and back. But don't expect grunt. Do you want a bit more grunt for extreme enduro? Try the 150 class, courtesy of Husk Varna and TM. Less revs and more grunt. The 200 strokes from Beta and Gas Gas. Yeah baby. Let's look at some possible reasons for riding hard enduro on a small two-stroke. I have ridden with a Canadian who loves riding hard enduro on a 125. It needs a lot of revs and careful clutch work but he loved the challenge. Scott bought the 200EXC for similar reasons and extreme enduro. He downsized from a 300 to work on his clutch and throttle control. Yes, the 200 engine stalls much easier. But this provides opportunities to develop his skills. If you do a lot of lifting in difficult terrain, these motorbikes are several kilograms lighter than the 300s. But remember in most cases the seat height is the same as the 300 models. Lighter? Yes. Lower? No. The exhaust pipes are much smaller so they are less likely to be damaged. The 250 and 300 exhaust pipes hang low and are quite wide. We gumby riders either damage the exhaust pipes frequently, or need big heavy guards. The price of smaller two-strokes is always a lot cheaper than their big brothers. Yes, you will need to rebuild engines and replace clutch plates more often, but they will still be cheaper over several years. Some riders love the smaller two strokes because you have to rev them more. In my experience, this tends to be middle-aged riders who raced in the past. They still like the thrill of high revs, but want to ride at a safe pace. You might find the smaller two-strokes give you that 'buzz' with less risk. And finally, if you are very light then the lack of 'grunt' might not be so important. I have ridden a 125 and needed a lot of revs to move my heavy carcass! But look at Ina Coleman. She has downsized to the Sherco 125SE and loves it. With her light body weight, she can easy lift the front wheel without needing maximum revs. Ina has been on the hard enduro podium in the women's class often with this 125. The final round of the 2022 Hard Enduro World Championship was bound to be a close fight at Hixpania between the defending champ Manuel Lettenbichler and the home hero Mario Roman. After Day 1’s City Prologue and Day 2’s Campoo Xtreme Mani managed to reserve the front row for final action, Lost Roads. From start to finish he controlled everything and stayed away doing major mistakes which would have put a tragic end to his almost flawless season. At the end of the day, The German rightfully defended his title and became a 3rd time champion of the world. Mario, with just 4 pts behind Letti, was full of hopes at the start of the week but the opening days didn’t turn out to favour him. He still had a 2h30m extremely hard course to cover as well as his rivals and opportunities might show up. He put his head down, caught his pace and started working on damage recovery but at the end it was just not enough against Letti. The Spaniard crossed the line 2nd and therefore completed the season with P2 on the podium. City Prologue winner Alfredo Gomez was the one who completed the podium for Hixpania Hard Enduro 2022. HEWC championship 3rd position contender Graham Jarvis managed to complete P5 and secured his spot on the season’s overall podium. South African Matt Green became the title winner of the newly introduced Junior Hard Enduro World Champion after a delightful season to remember for himself. Video highlights from Hard Enduro South in Poland, round one. The Tylmanowa Hard Enduro Race where Emil Juszczak took the win, starting from the last position in the PRO class. The competition took place in the small town of Tylmanowa, near the Polish capital of the Tatry Mountains, Zakopane. The rain falling the day before made the race more difficult.. but this is hard enduro. 230 competitors took part in the competition. It was finally time for the main race at the Spanish Hard Enduro Championship at the beautiful La Rioja, Spain. Because I performed well at the qualification, I got the best possible starting position. But at the very first corner Teodor Kabakchiev turned into me while trying to defend the advantage he thought he got and we collied. Luckily, we were both okay and had our private mini start with a lot of positions to recover. With consistently building a better pace than anyone and having had some good line pickings I managed to find myself in lead in about 5-7 minutes into the race. From that on I just enjoyed and focused on myself and to my bike. Since I attended to this race with the same bike that I am going to ride throughout the Hard Enduro World Championship 2021 season, this was also a testing. I had some valuable notes about what needs to be improved. Erzbergrodeo 2022 made its comeback after three years of missing and the 4-day hard enduro festival was crowned with an iconic Red Bull Erzbergrodeo 2022 Hare Scramble edition. The extreme enduro supreme was crippled and cancelled both in 2020 and 2021 which carried the expectations even further. Racing week started with Rocket Ride prologue and finals on Thursday. It then continued with the Iron Road prologue heat one on Friday and Heat 2 on Saturday. The fastest 500 were qualified to line up for Hare Scramble on Sunday. The main race of the 26th edition of Erzbergrodeo, Hare Scramble, took off at 14:30 CEST and the battle began. Manuel Lettenbichler had a great start and avoided the traffic very early in the race. The German then rode a flawless pace all alone till CP22, AKA Motorex Highway. When Mani arrived to the newly introduced section it was more then 8 minutes clearance against his closest rival, Mario Roman. Arriving there first without and prior race line, he struggled a lot and ended up having Mario on his tail. Letti was the first to clear CP22 and after that it was basically the Dynamite which could cause problems. He kept his calm and continued without making any mistakes and brought the victory home for the Team. Manuel & Andreas Lettenbichler became the only Father-Son duo to win it in Erzberg, Andreas Lettenbichler won it in 2015. The German also got his second consecutive win in the championship after missing Round 1, Minus 400, and put himself in the P3 at the overall classification of World Hard Enduro Championship, 40pts. Mario Roman was another one coming from an injury from Xross Hard Enduro Rally and he wasn’t fully recovered from it. Spaniard was on a roll despite all and had a great day on the bike. After winning Minus 400 Desert Extreme, he got himself another podium in Round 3, P2. Trystan Hart completed the podium and made history of being the first Canadian on the podium in Erzberg. He had his ups and downs throughout the race and even dropped to P8 before Carl’s Dinner but it didn’t take long to recover those positions and more back.
