But in reading the whole Surah objectively, one finds that the displeasure, in fact, is expressed against the disbelieving Qureysh, who, because of their arrogant attitude and indifference, were rejecting the message of truth with contempt. The error in the method that the Prophet adopted at the start of his mission is also pointed out. His treating of the blind man with neglect and disregard, and consequently devoting all of his attention to the Qureysh chiefs was not because he regarded the rich as noble and a poor blind man as contemptible. Naturally, when a caller to the Truth embarks on the mission of conveying his message to people, he wants the most influential people of society to accept the message so his task becomes easier. Almost the same attitude the Prophet (upon whom be peace) had adopted in the beginning, an attitude of sincerity and a desire to promote his mission and not out of respect for the rich people and hatred for the poor. But Allah made him realize the correct method of extending invitation to Islam and his mission's point of view: every man, who was a seeker of the truth, was important, even if he was weak, or poor, and every man, who was heedless to the truth, was unimportant, even if he occupied a high position in society. Surah ‘Abasa is the third surah of the last juz’ (section) of the Quran. It tells the story of a blind, poor, yet pious man who sat next to someone who frowned at him and drew his garment away from him and instead attended to a wealthy man, just because he was poor and blind. Moreover, it talks about the events of the Day of Judgment and the fate of people on that day. 🤍

Surah Abasa (Juz Amma) - Quran Translated in English Only. He [i.e., the Prophet (ﷺ) ] frowned and turned away 80:2 أَن جَآءَهُ ٱلْأَعْمَىٰ ٢ Because there came to him the blind man, [interrupting]. 80:3 وَمَا يُدْرِيكَ لَعَلَّهُۥ يَزَّكَّىٰٓ ٣ But what would make you perceive, [O Muḥammad], that perhaps he might be purified 80:4 أَوْ يَذَّكَّرُ فَتَنفَعَهُ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰٓ ٤ Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him? As for he who thinks himself without need, 80:6 فَأَنتَ لَهُۥ تَصَدَّىٰ ٦ To him you give attention. And not upon you [is any blame] if he will not be purified. But as for he who came to you striving [for knowledge] 80:9 وَهُوَ يَخْشَىٰ ٩ While he fears [Allāh], 80:10 فَأَنتَ عَنْهُ تَلَهَّىٰ ١٠ From him you are distracted. No! Indeed, they [i.e., these verses] are a reminder; 80:12 فَمَن شَآءَ ذَكَرَهُۥ ١٢ So whoever wills may remember it. 80:13 فِى صُحُفٍۢ مُّكَرَّمَةٍۢ ١٣ [It is recorded] in honored sheets, 80:14 مَّرْفُوعَةٍۢ مُّطَهَّرَةٍۭ ١٤ Exalted and purified, 80:15 بِأَيْدِى سَفَرَةٍۢ ١٥ [Carried] by the hands of messenger-angels, 80:16 كِرَامٍۭ بَرَرَةٍۢ ١٦ Noble and dutiful. Destroyed [i.e., cursed] is man; how disbelieving is he. 80:18 مِنْ أَىِّ شَىْءٍ خَلَقَهُۥ ١٨ From what thing [i.e., substance] did He create him? From a sperm-drop He created him and destined for him; 80:20 ثُمَّ ٱلسَّبِيلَ يَسَّرَهُۥ ٢٠ Then He eased the way for him; 80:21 ثُمَّ أَمَاتَهُۥ فَأَقْبَرَهُۥ ٢١ Then He causes his death and provides a grave for him. Then when He wills, He will resurrect him. No! He [i.e., man] has not yet accomplished what He commanded him. Then let mankind look at his food - 80:25 اَنَّا صَبَبْنَا ٱلْمَآءَ صَبًّۭا ٢٥ How We poured down water in torrents, 80:26 ثُمَّ شَقَقْنَا ٱلْأَرْضَ شَقًّۭا ٢٦ Then We broke open the earth, splitting [it with sprouts], 80:27 فَأَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا حَبًّۭا ٢٧ And caused to grow within it grain 80:28 وَعِنَبًۭا وَقَضْبًۭا ٢٨ And grapes and herbage 80:29 وَزَيْتُونًۭا وَنَخْلًۭا ٢٩ And olive and palm trees 80:30 وَحَدَآئِقَ غُلْبًۭا ٣٠ And gardens of dense shrubbery 80:31 وَفَـٰكِهَةًۭ وَأَبًّۭا ٣١ And fruit and grass - 80:32 مَّتَـٰعًۭا لَّكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَـٰمِكُمْ ٣٢ [As] enjoyment [i.e., provision] for you and your grazing livestock. But when there comes the Deafening Blast 80:34 يَوْمَ يَفِرُّ ٱلْمَرْءُ مِنْ أَخِيهِ ٣٤ On the Day a man will flee from his brother 80:35 وَأُمِّهِۦ وَأَبِيهِ ٣٥ And his mother and his father 80:36 وَصَـٰحِبَتِهِۦ وَبَنِيهِ ٣٦ And his wife and his children, 80:37 لِكُلِّ ٱمْرِئٍۢ مِّنْهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ شَأْنٌۭ يُغْنِيهِ ٣٧ For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him. [Some] faces, that Day, will be bright - 80:39 ضَاحِكَةٌۭ مُّسْتَبْشِرَةٌۭ ٣٩ Laughing, rejoicing at good news. And [other] faces, that Day, will have upon them dust. 80:41 تَرْهَقُهَا قَتَرَةٌ ٤١ Blackness will cover them. Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones. Assalaamu aalaikum wa rehmatullahi wa barakatuh 🔹️Virtues & Excellence Of The Qur'an Abdullaah bin Mas'ood (radiallaahu anhu) reported that the Messenger (ﷺ) said: "Whoever recites one letter from the Book of Allaah then he will receive a good reward, and every good deed is rewarded with ten times its like. I do not say that Alif Laam Meem is one letter but Alif is one letter, Laam is one letter and Meem is one letter." [Tirmidhee] This means it is equal to three letters and a person receives thirty rewards for reciting it. 🔹️Listening To The Qur’aan Shaykh Abdul Aziz Bin Baz said: ❝The one listening to the Qur’aan is a participant with the reader in every letter which incurs a good deed, and every good deed is equivalent to ten the like of it.❞ [Fatawa Noor Ala Darb, (26/350) | Translated By Abbas Abu Yahya Miraath al-Anbiyya] 🔹️The sound of the Qur’aan Al-Imam Ibn al-Qayyim -Rahimahullaah- said: "The sound of the Qur’aan: soothes souls, gives them tranquillity and causes them to be calm . . . . Naming Convention of the Surah No.80 The Surah takes its name from the first Ayat, عَبَسَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ "He frowned and turned away." [80:1]There are 42 Ayat in this Sarah. Central Theme* In view of the apparent style with which the discourse opens, one feels that in this Surah, God has expressed His displeasure against the Prophet for his treatment of the blind man with indifference and attending to the big chiefs exclusively. But when the whole Surah is considered objectively, one finds that the displeasure, in fact, has been expressed against the disbelieving Quraysh, who because of their arrogant attitude and indifference to the truth, were rejecting with contempt the message of truth being conveyed by the Prophet. Then, besides teaching him the correct method of preaching, the error of the method that he was adopting at the start of his mission has also been pointed out. His treatment of the blind man with neglect and disregard and devoting all his attention to the Quraysh chiefs was not for the reason that he regarded the rich as noble and a poor blind man as contemptible, and God forbid, there was some rudeness in his manner for which God reproved him. But, as a matter of fact, when a caller to Truth embarks on his mission of conveying his message to the people, he naturally wants the most influential people of society to accept his message so that his task becomes easy, for even if his invitation spreads among the poor and weak people, it cannot make much difference. Almost the same attitude had the Prophet also adopted in the beginning, his motive being only sincerity and a desire to promote his mission and not any idea of respect for the big people and hatred for the small people. But God made him realise that that was not the correct method of extending invitation to Islam, but from his mission’s point of view, every man, who was a seeker for the truth was important, even if he was weak, or poor, and every man, who was heedless to the truth, was unimportant, even if he occupied a high position in society. Therefore, he should openly proclaim and convey the teachings of Islam to all and sundry, but the people who were really worthy of his attention, were those who were inclined to accept the Truth and his sublime and noble message was too high to be presented before those arrogant people who in their arrogance and vanity thought that they did not stand in need of him but rather he stood in need of them. This is the theme of v. 1-16. From verse 17 onward the rebuke directly turns to the disbelievers, who were repudiating the invitation of the Messenger of God. In this, first they have been reproved for their attitude which they had adopted against their Creator, Provider and Sustainer. In the end, they have been warned of the dreadful fate that they would meet in consequence of their conduct on the Day of Resurrection.

Chapter 80, "Abasa" (He Frowned), consists of 42 verses and is the 80th chapter of the Quran. The chapter is believed to have been revealed in Mecca, and it primarily deals with the themes of accountability and the importance of treating people with respect and fairness. The chapter gets its name from the incident in which the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) frowned upon a blind man while conversing with an essential tribal leader. The chapter reprimands the Prophet for his behavior and teaches him and the readers the importance of treating everyone with respect and fairness regardless of their social status or wealth. The chapter also describes the Day of Judgment and the accountability of all people, including the Prophet and the community leaders, for their actions in this life. It emphasizes that everyone will be judged according to their deeds and that no one will escape the judgment of God. The chapter also reminds people of the importance of being mindful of God and living a righteous life, as that is the only way to ensure salvation on the Day of Judgment. It also encourages people to seek God's forgiveness and repent of their sins. It also speaks of the ultimate triumph of the believers and the defeat of the disbelievers, and the final victory of the believers over their enemies. The chapter ends with a reminder that the message of the Quran is a warning to all humanity and that only those who accept it and follow it will find salvation on the Day of Judgment. It's essential to remember that this is a general description of the chapter and the Quran is a sacred text that holds deep meaning and significance to the believer. Therefore, it's essential to consult with scholars and experts in the field of Quranic studies for a deeper understanding of the chapter and its teachings. contact🤍nexidy.com
