LEGO Minifigures have been a staple of the brand for decades now. In this video, we will go through the years and see how the Minifigures designs have evolved since they were first introduced and also examine some updates that classic Minifigures have gotten in more modern sets. The LEGO Group was founded in 1932 but it took another 42 years before LEGO Minifigures were produced. Before the 1970s, LEGO consisted of strictly bricks. It was only natural that LEGO began to create characters to populate the towns and cities that people have been building with their bricks for the past few decades. LEGO Minifigures first made an appearance in 1974, when the LEGO family was released. It consisted of five Minifigures, a mom, a dad, a grandmother, and two children. But the original Minifigures had one major issue though, they were too big. The first Minifigures were around three to four times as tall as the Minifigures that we have today. It wasn’t until 1978 that the scale became what we know today and LEGO Minifigures really began to take off. Important note!
