NOTE: Opencore 0.7.4 is now out of beta and is available link below although there seems to be an issue if you want to boot into a Mojave sytem drive if you have multiple systems this seems to be the fix (Edit the plist and disable SecureBootModel 4th and 3rd line from bottom find the same place on yours and disable it Mojave will boot then ). or just stick with .3 V2. I am now running Big Sur 11.6 on my Mac Pro 5,1 12 core with R5700XT. This was not possible a few weeks ago and we were stuck at 11.2.3, This meant no Lossless audio or Dolby Atmos because you need the newest verion of Apple Music which only came with later versions of Mac 11.3 and up. Pueden existir problemillas con tarjetas gráficas que no incorporan METAL y otras incompatibilidades con las tarjetas Wifi, Thunderbolt, Bluetooth... de portátiles, iMacs y MacMini anteriores al 2012. No olvidéis aplicar el parche postinstall en vuestro equipo para un correcto funcionamiento... IMPORTANT!!!!!!!!!! There is now a fix for our Mac Pro 5,1s to be able to upgrade to Big Sur 11.6. Check out my new video on it. 🤍 You must first install Martin Lo's Opencore package which is now 0.7.3 (V2). This is the only version of Opnecore that allows you to update to 11.6 any others will corrupt your system drive and possiblt others over time. I have had it running for a few days now and so far its been great. One note is be very patient on the install as it took two or three auto reboots installing 11.6 before it was finished and also it seemed like the installer was stuck, But I just left it alone and finally the progress bar jumped forward. So be patient and don't force shutdown in the middle of the install. This is a performance test of macOS Big Sur on an unsupported 2011 MacBook Pro. This is the tenth beta, there is still no graphics acceleration except some slight translucency in the dock menus. If you think this is a bad video, I'm sorry but just be happy that there are people out there that are dedicated to doing this, keep in mind you're trying to run a 2020 operating system on a 9 year old machine, which shouldn't even be running it. Be happy its even possible. I might make a tutorial and in-depth performance test once the OS releases or once beta 11 releases, whichever is sooner. Thank You.
