Colorado resident Michael Kent recently sat down at a tattoo parlor in Colorado Springs to have his swastikas covered up. Follow reporter Michael Koenigs 🤍MikeOnABikeABC for more profile pieces. Kent, a former neo-Nazi, credits an African-American parole officer named Tiffany Whittier with helping him to see beyond skin color and changing his views about white supremacy. “If it wasn’t for her I would have seeped back into it,” said Kent. “I look at her as family.” Whittier, 45, even inspired Kent, 38, to take down the Nazi flags he had hanging in his living room and replace them with smiley faces. “I’m not here to judge him. That’s not my job to judge. My job is to be that positive person in someone’s life,” Whittier said. The sterile environment is new to Kent who had his previous ink work done in prison. “I’ve never, never, never been inside of a tattoo shop getting a professional tattoo,” he said. Kent believes the painful process will help him move forward after spending years as a member of a violent skinhead group based in Arizona. On orders from Heinrich Himmler, the Nazis abducted children from Poland for forced Germanization. Hermann Lüdeking, Jozef Sowa and Alodia Witaszek have never met, but they shared the same fate. Tears still come to Jozef Sowa’s eyes when he talks about his life. His parents were murdered by Wehrmacht soldiers in Poland in 1943, and he and his four siblings were taken to Germany. Four of them managed to return to Poland. But his younger sister Janina was given up for adoption - as a supposedly German child. She still lives in Germany today. This kidnapping was planned. In 1941, Himmler, who headed the Nazi SS, gave the order to "gather young children who are especially racially suitable from Polish families and for us to raise them in special modestly-sized kindergartens and children’s homes." Professor Isabel Heinemann explains, "By so doing, he aimed to build up the German race." For years, the historian has been researching the fates of the estimated 50 thousand children in Europe who were snatched. The largest group comes from Poland. Without their biological parents to protect them, the children were given to German families by the "SS Race and Resettlement Main Office." Their names and dates of birth were changed to obscure their true identity. After the war ended, those whose origins could be traced returned to their homelands. But their native countries had often become foreign to them and being singled out as a German "Hitler child" made reintegration difficult. #shorts India is full of symbols, but the first thing western people notice when we arrive is that it is full of Swastikas! 🤷♂️😱 In many countries, the use of swastikas is not only unaccepted by society these days, but it’s even forbidden by law,🚫 and with good reason! Swastikas were the symbol used by Hitler and the German Nazi party responsible for the Holocaust, one of the most horrific moments in modern history where around 6 million Jews ✡️ were murdered simply for being of that religion. The thing is, swastikas were around way before Hitler stole it and tilt it to make it a bit different. In fact, popular brands like Coca-cola used to have them in their advertisement, and it’s because the original Swastika meaning is “Well Being” 🧑🏽⚕️ In india it still means that and it is still used with that meaning as a cultural and religious symbol. EXECUTION of Elsa Ehrich - Sadistic NAZI Guard at Ravensbrück & Majdanek Concentration Camps. Elsa Ehrich was born on the 8th of March 1914 in Bredereiche then part of the German Empire. On the night of the 9th of November 1938, the Nazis destroyed synagogues and the shop windows of Jewish-owned stores throughout Germany and Austria. This event, which became known as the Kristallnacht pogrom or Night of Broken Glass, marked a transition to an era of destruction, in which genocide would become the singular focus of Nazi antisemitism. The Germans deported Jews from all over occupied Europe to extermination camps in Poland, where they were systematically killed, and also to concentration camps, where they were drafted for forced labor which was "extermination through work." Several hundred thousand Roma people and Soviet prisoners of war were also systematically murdered. Part of the Nazi camp system also became Elsa Ehrich. On the 15th of August 1940, she volunteered for service in the concentration camp Ravensbrück as an SS guard. At Ravensbrück, Ehrich initially worked as a supervisor of block 13, but through the eager performance of her responsibilities, she rose rapidly in the overseer hierarchy and from 1941, she worked as a SS-Rapportführerin – a Rapport Leader. The primary duty of a Rapport Leader was to conduct daily and evening camp roll call, which was usually a long and grueling process involving prisoners sometimes standing for hours on end in all types of weather conditions. The Rapport Leader also oversaw camp discipline of the prisoners as well as training for junior SS personnel. Most Rapport Leaders in the SS were known for their brutality and Elsa Ehrich was no exception. In October 1942, she was transferred to Majdanek near Lublin. Elsa Ehrich, with her revolver and whip always ready, made sure her deputy would not overshadow her in terms of cruelty. Ehrich, once a butcher’s shop assistant was depicted as “primitive” by her former female inmates. However, at Majdanek she had the power to decide about matters of life and death. In the camp, Ehrich would become infamous for slapping and kicking the prisoners for no reason and enjoyed brutally harassing as well as beating up especially weak, emaciated and old women, without sparing the children. On one occasion, when Dr Perzanowska asked Elsa Ehrich for an allowance of milk for her patients’ babies, Ehrich slapped her face, yelling: “This is not a sanatorium, but a death camp!” In her position, she was responsible for the death of tens of thousands of women and children who died in gas chambers and by shootings. In early 1943 Ehrich made an attempt to launch a Nazi brothel in the camp, but the project was abandoned before fruition after one of her slave sex-workers was diagnosed with typhus. Ehrich herself became ill due to typhoid in February 1943. After the suppression of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising which started on the 19th of April 1943, a large part of the surviving Jews were transported to the concentration camp at Majdanek. SS female supervisors, including Ehrich, Braunsteiner and other SS personnel, prevented the children from escaping, beat them and hit them with a whip, and then captured them again. During the spring of 1944 the SS evacuated most of the prisoners to the concentration camps further west. In late July 1944, as Soviet forces approached Lublin, the remaining camp staff hastily abandoned Majdanek. However, in their urgency to flee the camp they neglected to destroy most of the prisoners' barracks and the gas chambers. When the Soviet army liberated the camp on the 24th of July 1944, it was virtually intact and only a few hundred Jewish prisoners remained alive. Soviet officials invited journalists to inspect the camp and see evidence of the horrors that had occurred there. Between 80,000 – 120,000 people perished in Majdanek between October 1941 and July 1944 when the camp was operational. When the Soviet army liberated Majdanek, Ehrich was the Oberaufseherin - Chief Senior Overseer in the Płaszów concentration camp where she had been sent on the 5th of April 1944. The Płaszów camp was established in 1942 under the authority of the SS and police leaders in Krakow. It was initially a forced-labor camp for Jews. This 38-minute film introduces the history of the Holocaust. It begins by looking back at the major changes from 1918 to 1933 that created the political climate for the birth and rise of the Nazi Party in Germany. It explores the basis for the party’s support among ordinary Germans and the military, government, and business establishment before and after Hitler was appointed chancellor in January 1933. After 1933, Nazi leaders used violence and intimidation, propaganda, laws and decrees, and parliamentary maneuvers to quickly destroy the remains of democratic rule. Having established a dictatorship, leaders began pursuing ideological goals. These included the purification and strengthening of the “superior” German “race” and the return of Germany to great power status through economic revival and the build-up of the military. Jews, who were viewed in Nazi ideology as a separate and dangerous “race,” went from being German citizens with full equal rights to outcasts. They were pressured to immigrate and excluded from the racially based “people’s community” that gave many Germans, especially youth, a sense of belonging. Other excluded groups included Roma, persons with disabilities, gay men, Jehovah’s Witnesses, and political opponents. INTERNATIONAL - C’est l’une des conséquences de la pire sécheresse sui touche l’Europe depuis des années. Tandis que le fleuve du Danube est à son niveau le plus bas depuis près d’un siècle, des carcasses de navires nazis refont surface, près de Prahovo en Serbie. En septembre 1944, durant la Seconde guerre mondiale, les Allemands ont sabordé leur propre flotte face à l’avancée des troupes soviétiques depuis la mer Noire. C’est donc une centaine de navires qui se trouve encore aujourd’hui au fond du Danube et qui continue de perturber le trafic fluvial dès que le niveau de l’eau baisse. La sécheresse de cette année, dont l’intensité est due au réchauffement climatique d’après les scientifiques, a donc fait revenir à la surface une vingtaine de carcasses. Mais ce qui préoccupe la population ce sont les tonnes de munitions et d’explosifs toujours présents à l’intérieur des bateaux. « Les vestiges de la Seconde Guerre Mondiale ou les conséquences du conflit entre l’Armée rouge et la flotte de guerre allemande sont désormais devant nous. Ainsi, ils nous ont laissé un désastre écologique, à nous les habitants de Prahovo. Et qui représente une menace pour nous chaque jour depuis 78 ans. Il y a certainement environ 10.000 kg d’engins explosifs là-bas. Même si on ne sait pas s’ils peuvent exploser ou non, vous pouvez déjà anticiper ce qu’il se passerait si un seul y parvenait », s’inquiète Velimir Trajilovic, habitant de Prahovo et auteur d’un livre sur les navires allemands. Certains navires sont encore en bon état. On peut notamment distinguer des tourelles, des ponts de commandement, des mâts brisés et des coques tordues, tandis que d’autres sont presque totalement ensablés. En mars, le gouvernement serbe a lancé un appel d’offres pour le sauvetage des carcasses et l’enlèvement des munitions et des explosifs. Nées dans une Allemagne humiliée par la défaite de la Première Guerre mondiale, adolescentes à l'accession de Hitler au pouvoir en 1933, près de 500.000 femmes ont servi le nazisme. Retour sur l'itinéraire de ces témoins, complices et actrices du génocide. Quels rôles ont joué les femmes dans l'Allemagne nazie : témoins passives ou rouages indispensables du régime ? Dès 1933, 200 000 adolescentes, petites-bourgeoises en rébellion ou filles de prolétaires en quête d'émancipation, s'engagent au sein du Bund Deutscher Mädel (BDM), la branche féminine des Jeunesses hitlériennes. Malgré les lois misogynes du régime nazi et l'assignation nataliste et maternelle dont elles font l'objet, elles trouvent dans cette organisation un lieu de brassage social et de propagande où elles embrassent l'idéologie raciste et antisémite. Au début de la guerre, nombre d'Allemandes rejoignent la Pologne, pour participer à la germanisation de l'Est, et, plus ou moins activement et consciemment, au génocide. Violence féminine Infirmières, secrétaires, gardiennes de camps de concentration, médecins ou encore épouses de généraux SS... : au service du Reich, elles ont apporté leur concours à l'expansion allemande et à l'extermination de 6 millions de juifs. Si certaines d'entre elles se sont limitées à éduquer les jeunes Allemands et à soigner les soldats, d'autres femmes, par leur rôle dans les camps, se sont distinguées par leur effroyable violence : expériences médicales sur des déportés, maltraitances ou encore sélection des détenus, promis au travail forcé ou à la mort. En images d'archives et au travers d'analyses d'historiennes, comme Wendy Lower ou Elissa Mailänder, ce film retrace l'itinéraire de ces femmes. Rompant le tabou de la violence féminine, il contribue au devoir de mémoire concernant un pan encore méconnu du génocide, et met en lumière le crime perpétré par une société tout entière. Comment la science allemande s'est massivement ralliée au nazisme, légitimant ses crimes et y participant. Une page en partie méconnue de l'histoire du IIIe Reich. Si la médecine nazie et ses expérimentations monstrueuses ont été partiellement jugées à Nuremberg (la plupart des coupables étaient en fuite), le rôle assigné dès 1933 par Heinrich Himmler, le maître de la SS, à l'ensemble de la communauté scientifique allemande est moins connu. Obsédé par le désir de prouver la supériorité de la race germanique, le futur maître d'œuvre de la "solution finale" crée en 1935 l'Ahnenerbe (littéralement "héritage ancestral"), institut scientifique doté de moyens colossaux pour effectuer chantiers de fouilles et expéditions à travers le monde. Si l'archéologie – dont 80 % des représentants adhèrent au parti national-socialiste – et l'anthropologie sont en première ligne, toutes les disciplines vont travailler avec ardeur à la tâche qui leur est assignée : légitimer l’entreprise d’épuration raciale, de germanisation des territoires et de domination idéologique du régime. Beaucoup de chercheurs, membres de la SS, vont aussi participer directement aux crimes de masse du nazisme, soit au sein des commandos d'extermination sur le front de l'Est, soit en se livrant à des expériences barbares sur des humains, ou encore en organisant le pillage à grande échelle des territoires conquis. Objectifs délirants L'histoire de cette "science de combat", et la manière dont elle s'organise pour se plier aux objectifs délirants fixés par Himmler puis, après la guerre, pour échapper largement à la dénazification superficielle menée par les Alliés, est retracée par David Korn-Brzoza à partir d'archives en partie inédites et de témoignages de nombre d'historiens ayant contribué à mettre ces faits dans la lumière. Son film revient ainsi sur les élucubrations de Himmler, persuadé qu'en cherchant bien la science pourrait montrer que les Germains ont inventé tous les acquis de la civilisation. Il rappelle aussi comment, au camp de concentration Natzweiler-Struthof, choisi pour sa proximité avec la Reichuniversität de Strasbourg, l'anatomiste August Hirt a fait exécuter 86 déportés sélectionnés à Auschwitz pour constituer une collection de "squelettes juifs". Un épisode atroce et méconnu dans la longue liste des horreurs commises jusqu'aux dernières heures de la guerre au nom de la "science" nazie. In 2014, Russian separatists took over government buildings in the Donbas region of eastern Ukraine. Russia took advantage of this chaos to pour weapons and volunteers into the region. Ukrainian militias formed to fight the separatists. One of these units was a battalion of white supremacists. Ukraine's constitution guarantees freedom of speech, so this militia battalion was unchanged when it was integrated into the Ukrainian Army. Russia used the existence of this battalion as proof that Ukraine was run by Nazis for a pretext to invade.

Das ganze Ausmaß des wissenschaftlichen Unternehmens, auf das sich die Nazis zur Rechtfertigung und Festigung ihres politischen Projektes stützten, ist noch weitgehend unbekannt. Innerhalb verschiedener Organisationen, die namhafte Forscher und Hochschullehrer vereinten, entstand nach der Machtergreifung eine wahre „Kampfwissenschaft“. So wurde das 1935 auf Anregung von Heinrich Himmler gegründete „Ahnenerbe“ zur Hauptstütze dieses wissenschaftlichen Vorhabens der Nazis. Hauptanliegen der mit sämtlichen Vollmachten und umfangreichem Mitteln ausgestatteten SS-Organisation war es, den Begriff „germanische Rasse“ zu definieren. Dazu bemühten sich die jeweiligen Forscher – dem Regime treu ergeben oder zumindest an den sich bietenden Forschungsmöglichkeiten und ihren Karrierechancen interessiert –, auf allen Gebieten „wissenschaftliche“ Beweise zu erbringen, mit denen sie die Ideologie von der „Herrenrasse“ untermauern und damit das Naziregime stützen konnten. Um die Gegenwart zu beherrschen und die Zukunft zu meistern, mussten die Nazis die Geschichte umschreiben. So wurde durch eine verzerrte Interpretation der Archäologie die Überlegenheit des deutschen „Ariers“ konstruiert, der die Zivilisation erfunden und die Kultur geschaffen habe. Auch die Biologie wurde herangezogen, um den Politikern zu helfen, die Vorzüglichkeit und hierarchische Vorherrschaft der „germanischen Rasse“ zu rechtfertigen. Im Ergebnis dieser Forschungen wurden den Nicht-Ariern das menschliche Wesen abgesprochen: Ihre Einstufung als „niedere Rasse“ machte jede Art von Missbrauch möglich. Vertreter des deutschen Wissenschaftsbetriebs trugen dazu bei, diese Lüge in der deutschen Bevölkerung zu verbreiten und die Forschung zu manipulieren, um die schlimmsten Gräueltaten zu rechtfertigen. Anhand unveröffentlichter Dokumente und Bilder verschafft der Film weitere Aufschlüsse darüber, wie das Dritte Reich funktionierte: nicht zuletzt auch durch die notwendige Beihilfe und aktive Unterstützung vonseiten namhafter Wissenschaftler.
