Emperor Nerva is the first of the 'Five Good Emperor'. However, his reign proved to be fairly lackluster and he only reigned for 15 months and during his short time on the throne, his Praetorian Guards took him hostage and forced him to give up Domitian's assassins for execution. The Emperors of Rome podcast looks at the achievements of Rome's emperors.
Nerva (Latin: Marcus Cocceius Nerva Caesar Augustus; 8 November, 30 AD – 27 January, 98 AD) was Roman Emperor from 96 to 98. Nerva became Emperor at the age of sixty-five, after a lifetime of imperial service under Nero and the rulers of the Flavian dynasty. Under Nero, he was a member of the imperial entourage and played a vital part in exposing the Pisonian conspiracy of 65. Later, as a loyalist to the Flavians, he attained consulships in 71 and 90 during the reigns of Vespasian and Domitian respectively. Sicilian Breeze - Topher Mohr and Alex Elena

#shorts #youtubeshorts #theromanempireinsixtyseconds There was SO MUCH more I wanted to say about the Roman golden age than I could here, but I felt it was really important to highlight the aspect of adoption of your successor. Of course there were tons of reasons the second century was such a good time to be a Roman, environmental, economic, social, political, all these things beyond the grasp of any single ruler, but I do believe it was a major boon for the Roman people that the rulers in this era each hand-picked their successor. It meant you could pick a good one, and not just the one that happened to spring from your own loins (what a gross word that is, sorry for that y'all). Anyways, I still believe in the project, whole-heartedly and passionately. I will do sixty seconds on every Roman emperor. I have taken on board a lot of the recent feedback that I am trying to force-feed to much into the scripts, as if they are some literary foie gras, and I am just talking too fast to appeal to casuals. Those of you who gave me that feedback, you are right. I wanted to get more facts in and in so doing flew too gosh darned close to the sun. Worth noting that the first, and probably best, video in this series was about Augustus, and there was no need for quick cut edits or Chipmunk-voice hyperspeed. So I've heard you. Anyhow guys, I am only still making these because you are here. If you swing by this video, thank you, I appreciate you. Nerva prohibited men from marrying their nieces, and abolished castration and the making of eunuchs. And yet, slaves and freedmen who plotted against their masters were executed, and Nerva made it unlawful for them to lodge a complaint against their masters. Emperor Nerva succeeded the tyrant Domitian and executed many of his agents and was succeeded by Trajan. Unfortunately there is little information one of Rome’s greatest emperors Trajan. Trajan defeated the Dacian tribes under the legendary Decebalus, the Nabataean Arabians, the Parthians and their Saracen, Gordyaenian, Armenian and Osroenian allies and finally the Sarmatians. Trajan defeated the rebels of Casperius Aelianus and also martyred several early Christians. Under Trajan the Roman empire reached its zenith !!!!!

On the day Domitian was killed, Nerva, real name Marcus Cocceius Nerva, was named Roman Emperor. During a protracted political career that began with him serving in Nero's company and continued with his submissive support during the Flavian Dynasty, he was elected emperor. When he became emperor, he was already 65 years old, and he only held the position for one year and four months. During that time, he was unable to resolve the country's financial problems. He passed away in the year 98 AD from natural causes. Denar Denarius Silver coin Rare video Nerva's career as emperor ended less than two years after his accession to the throne. Up to that point he had been a long-time central politician under the various emperors before him, particularly Domitian and Nero. However, he started off as emperor under a precarious relationship with the army which rightly suspected him of being involved in the conspiracy against Domitian. He made things right in their eyes by presenting them with an embarrassingly apologetic speech and appointing Trajan as his successor. Trajan was at the time an admired general engaging the Germanic tribes. He died in 98 following a stroke and afterwards Trajan forced the Senate to consecrate him.

► Realistic Face Reconstruction of 1st Century Roman Emperors ► Hello and welcome back everyone. He decided to combine facial recognition computer algorithms (Artificial Intelligence) and Photoshop, to revive and reconstruct realistic looking faces of the emperors, from Augustus to Valentinian III.
