A rolling release has the advantage that it only has to be installed once and always has the latest software and firmware through an update. Ciao ragazzi! In questo video, dopo aver visto come installare Arch Linux passo passo su un normale computer x86, vediamo come installare la sua versione ARM sul Raspberry Pi 4. Per installare questa "particolare" distribuzione nella sua versione ARM, non si utilizza lo stesso metodo che si usa di solito con tutte le altre distribuzioni: non si deve scaricare una iso che andrà poi flashata sulla microSD utilizzando un software apposito. È una procedura totalmente diversa: in poche parole, dobbiamo partizionare manualmente la microSD ed installarci all'interno la tarball. Non è una procedura macchinosa come l'installazione della sua versione x86, è molto più semplice, ma comunque si differenzia da tutte le altre distribuzioni per Raspberry Pi. La configurazione può essere fatta in modalità headless, ovvero senza monitor e senza tastiera, perché il server ssh è attivato di default; basta collegare il Raspberry Pi al router o al modem utilizzando un cavo ethernet. Inoltre, nel video spiego perché, pur potendolo fare, ho deciso di installare la versione a 32 bit al posto di quella a 64 bit. Comunque, per quanto riguarda l'installazione del desktop environment, nel caso volessimo farlo, è possibile farlo utilizzando la stessa procedura che si utilizza con la sua versione x86. RealVNC Server for Raspberry Pi4 64bit for vanilla Arch Linux ARM AARCH64 This AUR package will install RealVNC Server aarch64 package on a vanilla install of ArchLinux ARM64 installation on a Raspberry Pi4. This is been tested on many desktop environments including XFCE, MATE & KDE Plasma, LXQT to name a few. BEFORE YOU INSTALL THIS PACKAGE: Make sure you have the package base-devel installed fully. For example, a default install of Arch Linux ARM64 only has some components of base-devel installed by default on a fresh installation so please perform the following command to ensure all prerequists for building the package are met: pacman -S base-devel Installation: You can use the precompiled package in my Releases page to download & install: wget 🤍 pacman -U realvnc-vnc-server-6.7.2.43081-1-aarch64.pkg.tar.xz OR to git clone this package to compile manually: git clone 🤍 makepkg -si FYI: This should be pre-activated as the source is pre-activated for use with Raspberry Pi's however if it doesn't show a valid license after installation, you will need a vaild realvnc key; to activate run: sudo /usr/bin/vnclicense -add Don't forget to enable the systemd service: sudo systemctl enable vncserver-x11-serviced.service And thats it! Welcome to my room! In this video I'm switching the OS of my Raspberry Pi 1. Gen to Arch Linux! The main use for this little PC will be a Kodi Client for my Emby Server, as well as an Airplay Client. I'm also trying to use my Apple IR receiver as well as my Apple Remote to control Kodi. But at the end of the video I'm sticking with HDMI CEC and my TV remote.
