📚 I wrote a cocktail book! 🤍 The Best Gin Cocktails as voted by YouTube subscribers, Redditors and Facebook fans! I compiled a list of 25+ of the most popular gin cocktails and asked for everyone's input - to vote for their personal favourite GIN Cocktail. There were over 250 respondents to the survey resulting in the Best Gin Cocktails list! Given the number of responses received, I decided to create a mini-series for The Best Gin Cocktails. This is Vol. 1. * 📚 BUY MY BOOK: 🤍 📱 ANDROID APP: 🤍 🍏 iOS APP: 🤍 🍾 10 ESSENTIAL BOTTLES: 🤍 * INGREDIENTS LIST FOR ALL 7 GIN COCKTAILS: - Gin (London Dry, Old Tom) - Maraschino Liqueur - Creme de Violette - Creme de Mure - Champagne / Sparkling Wine - Lemon Juice - Simple Syrup (1:1) - Soda / Seltzer - Basil - Raspberry Syrup - Egg White Here are the top 7 gin cocktails based on these votes. -AVIATION- The most searched cocktail on the internet back in 2013. The Aviation has been printed in numerous cocktail books – many of which excluded the Creme de Violette, as this liqueur was largely unavailable in the states until recent years. INGREDIENTS - 60mL London Dry Gin (2 oz) - 22.5mL Fresh Lemon Juice (¾ oz) - 15mL Maraschino Liqueur (½ oz) - 1 Barspoon Crème de Violette -TOM COLLINS- The Tom Collins would be one of the most well known of the Collins’, made using a sweeter style, Old Tom gin. The collins cocktail is a great base to create variations by adding complimentary components and flavours such as elderflower, lychee and other fruit flavours in the form of fresh fruit, syrups and liqueurs. Some collins’ recipes call for a dash or two of bitters but I usually omit this. INGREDIENTS - 60mL Old Tom Gin (2 oz) - 22.5mL Fresh Lemon Juice (¾ oz) - 15mL Simple Syrup (1:1) (½ oz) - Soda -BASIL SMASH- In the mid 2000s a German bartender create the Basil Smash – a herbaceous gin sour recipe. INGREDIENTS - 60mL Gin (2 oz) - 22.5mL Fresh Lemon Juice (¾ oz) - 22.5mL Simple Syrup (1:1) (¾ oz) - 2-3 Sprigs of Fresh Basil -BRAMBLE- In 1984, London Bartender, Dick bradsell tweaked a classic gin sour by adding Creme de Mure (blackberry liqueur). Use crushed ice so that the Creme de Mure cascades down making a nice visual effect whilst adding a great balance of sweet, tart and fruitiness. Feel free to tweak this by adding a jam whether it be blackberry, raspberry, strawberry or what ever you have on hand. INGREDIENTS - 45mL Gin (1½ oz) - 22.5mL Fresh Lemon Juice (¾ oz) - 15mL Simple Syrup (½ oz) - 22.5mL Crème de Mure (¾ oz) -CLOVER CLUB- A pre-prohibition cocktail that was named after a Philadelphia men’s group consisting of business professionals. First published in 1901 in the New York Press. It fell out of fashion by the 1950s and became more of a ladies drink. Traditionally served with no garnish but you can utilise a lemon twist or skewered raspberry if you like. This particular recipe was published in Jeffrey Morgenthaler’s The Bar Book. The Clover Club bar in NY have created a popular variation with the addition of 15mL of Dry Vermouth. INGREDIENTS - 45mL Gin (1½ oz) - 22.5mL Fresh Lemon Juice (¾ oz) - 22.5mL Raspberry Syrup (¾ oz) - Fresh Egg White (half a small egg) -GIN FIZZ- A fizz is a sour lengthened with soda water. It differs from a collins as it’s shaken and has the addition of egg white – you can omit this if you prefer not use egg in your drinks. INGREDIENTS - 60mL Gin (2 oz) - 22.5mL Fresh Lemon Juice (¾ oz) - 22.5mL Simple Syrup (¾ oz) - Fresh Egg White (half a small egg) - Soda Water -FRENCH 75- The original version of the French 75 calls for cognac – but gin is the more common choice nowadays. It has a similar framework to a collins with the substitution of champagne or sparkling wine instead of soda. INGREDIENTS - 30mL Gin (1 oz) - 30mL Simple Syrup (1:1) (1 oz) - 22.5mL Fresh Lemon Juice (¾ oz) - 90mL Champagne or other sparkling wine (3 oz) Music by Chillhop: 🤍 Poldoore - Vista: 🤍 Listen on Spotify: 🤍
Gin Gin Mule cocktail recipe A creation of Audrey Saunders. She considers her uncarbonated, homemade ginger beer a non-negotiable ingredient in the recipe as it contains less sugar than store bought... but it still makes a delicious drink with a store bought carbonated ginger beer. Ensure you use one that is dry and spicy. You might consider lowering the simple syrup depending on your choice of ginger beer. - 1 mint sprig - 1oz / 30ml simple syrup - 1.75oz / 52.5ml gin - 0.75oz / 22.5ml lime juice - 1oz / 30ml ginger beer - Garnish: mint sprig, lime wheel and candied ginger 📚 Buy my cocktail book: 🤍 Filmed by 🤍TimandTonic

I have been known to get a little arrogant about Gin. It's True I know, and hard to believe....I know...I know. Nobody would ever describe me as arrogant! But I digress. As a bartender I come up against people's reluctance to drink gin. It's funny to think that the preference of vodka as the clear spirit of choice can be traced back to the 1940's and a campaign against gin by a company (which no longer exists) called the Heublein Company (also known for the bottled drink Brass Monkey made famous in a Beastie Boys song) which was representing Smirnoff Vodka. At the time Gin was king and Vodka was an obscure spirit nobody wanted to drink as it was closely related to Russia. But they hatched a plan when inspiration struck in a Sunset Boulevard bar and marketed a drink called the Moscow Mule and set into motion the fall of gin. So my question has always been, can people still really be victims of a 1940's anti-Gin marketing campaign? And as I have made a career of trying to get people to understand gin again and realize it's potential and superiority over Vodka (for cocktails anyway) I have to say that I think so. They always come up with the same three or four reasons about why they don't like gin: 1. They drank too much cheap gin got too drunk and can't stand the sight of it (a fair reason I guess) 2. Can't stand Juniper flavor 3. I'm allergic to gin/juniper (this last one is possible but usually not the case) and 4. I hate the taste of alcohol/spirits so I like to hide the vodka flavor with juices. So I came up with this Gin cocktail challenge to illustrate not only that most people DO NOT hate gin, but the versatility and potential of Gin as a spirit. The thing is, Gin is a spirit you have to know how to use. And it's easy, if you don't pair the flavors of the botanicals correctly, to make terrible drinks. It takes a bit of understanding but when you do understand this spirit, it opens up a whole new world to you. I have a 99% success rate with this challenge, most people can't look me in the eye and say they hate gin in cocktails and most become absolute fans of the Martini the king of all gin cocktails and one that heavily relies on it's botanical components for balance. In today's video we're making the Bramble! This modern classic combines botanical gin with tart lemon and rich crème de mûre (blackberry liqueur). Served over crushed ice, the presentation is eye-catching and the taste is outstanding - bright and refreshing with a berry sweetness rounding it out. I've seen many variations on this drink, but it's hard to top the original. Hope you try this one! If you don't have crème de mûre, a raspberry liqueur can easily be substituted for an equally delicious cocktail! Cheers, everyone! Have you ever tried making a Margarita with gin instead of tequila? Well, gin fans, we have the recipe for you. Inspired by Eat Real Snacks Chilli & Lemon Lentil Chips from our November Gin of the Month Box, we’ve created the perfect gin cocktail to sip alongside them - a Spicy Passion Fruit Ginarita. Sweet, spicy and delicious, you might have just found your new favourite cocktail... And the great thing about this recipe is that you can swap out passion fruit for any other muddled tropical fruit (think mango or pineapple) or indeed ½ cup of your favourite fruit juice. Don't like spice? Just leave the jalapeños out of this recipe. Today on Booze On The Rocks, we make a Gin Gin Mule cocktail. This cocktail is a variation of the original Moscow Mule, which contains vodka; however, in 2000, Audrey Saunders created the Gin Gin Mule by swapping out the vodka for gin. And she did this just as gin was beginning to soar into popularity. This version of the Gin Gin Mule uses gin infused with Butter Fly Pea Tea, which is then floated on top to give it a beautiful layered look. Try it out, and let me know what you think. The Jasmine’s pretty pink hue gives the illusion that it will be quite a sweet drink. The addition of Campari gives the impression it will be quite a bitter drink but in fact it sits right in the middle. Not sweet, barely bitter and to be honest, leaves me underwhelmed. INGREDIENTS - 45mL Gin - 7.5mL Campari - 7.5mL Cointreau - 22.5mL Fresh Lemon Juice HOW TO 1. Add all the ingredients to your cocktail shaker 2. Shake & double strain into a chilled cocktail glass 3. Garnish with a twist of lemon Don't forget to subscribe! 🤍 music by Dyalla Swain 🤍

This super simple cocktail formula is as easy as 1, 2, 3. Pick your fruit (lots of different fruits can be muddled into cocktails, from berry fruits to citrus and tropical fruits - we’ve chosen raspberries) Add 25ml of gin. Top up with your favourite sparkling water. We’ve chosen Aqua Libra Raspberry & Blackcurrant Sparkling Water from our January Gin of the Month Box, for a deliciously refreshing Raspberry Gin Smash. If you received a different Aqua Libra flavour in your January box this month, we’d recommend muddling lime and mint to go with your Cucumber, Mint & Lime Sparkling Water (it tastes like a ginny mojito) OR muddling pink grapefruit to enjoy with your Pineapple & Grapefruit Sparkling Water. Love the Tom Collins? Try its frothy, bubbly cousin, the Gin Fizz. The secret to creating the perfect creaminess and froth is to shake, shake, shake—and then shake some more. How to make a Gin Fizz: 2 oz Gin 1 oz Fresh lemon juice ¾ oz Simple syrup 1 Egg white (about ½ oz) Club soda, to top Glass: Fizz or Collins Add the first four ingredients to a shaker and dry-shake (without ice) for about 10 seconds.
