No, they are not "the top 10 restaurants in Eranakulam", they are "my 10 favorite restaurants in Eranakulam". There were many asking me about the top 10 restaurants in Kochi or the best restaurants in Eranakulam through comments. It's impossible for me to answer that clearly, but I can obviously create a list of 10 restaurants in Eranakulam which are my favorites. Some of these restaurants from my personal favorites include street food counters, biriyani centers, and midnight food suppliers. The list is as below: 10. Grand Hotel Aluva (🤍 I really enjoyed their Parotta Puff. You must have it hot, it's yummy! 09. Binnamma's Food Gallery (🤍 If you are a pork lover, you will enjoy this place. They have several varieties of pork dishes. 08. Machili Restaurant, Eranakulam (🤍 They serve Kerala Style meals and non-vegetarian delicacies. Their beef roast and fish fries are worth trying. 07. Sundaram's Dosa, Broadway (🤍 Varieties of dosa. Expect a small kiosk, but with some interesting dosa varieties. 06. a. Al Reem (🤍 I believe they serve one of the best Mandhi (Kuzhi Mandi) in Eranakulam. b. Jeff Biriyani (🤍 They surely have biriyani there, but what I liked most about this restaurant is their Afghani Chicken. 05. Nakshatra Catering & Event, Vyttila (🤍 If you love to have your lunch with Kerala Avial, Sambar, Katti Kaalan, and other side dishes at a reasonable price + some extra nonvegetarian (seafood, chicken, and beef) delicacies, this restaurant is a good choice. 04. Sethi Da Dhaba (🤍 Well, you will surely get some of those authentic Punjabi delicacies at Sethi Da Dhaba. 03. Periyar Restaurant (🤍 Expect seafood varieties and lots of them. I suggest visiting the place at least by 1:00 pm to enjoy their best delicacies. 02. Calicut Notebook (🤍 I ranked this restaurant as second in my personal favorites list of Ernakulam Restaurants just because of their Naruneyyin Mutton Biriyani. I had it somewhere around a year back and it was simply superb. 01. Vadakkeyattam + Shibuvinte Puttukada, Kumbalam (🤍 These shops are not so easy to access from the city. They do not have great interiors. They may even lack perfection in many areas. With all these drawbacks, I ranked them first on my list for their simplicity, taste, exterior ambiance (both of them are located by Kochi backwaters), and "midnight service". We started our Kerala tour from kochi and did 18 day tour of places to visit and had lot of traditional food. This was a very long day, we started from our hotel at 7 am and reached back at 9.30 pm.. I could never imagine that with in one day we would be able to explore so much of Kochi. For your reference, if you plan to go to Allepey or Thekkady or Munnar then your journey starting point is Kochi only… Following are the details of food joints and places visited by us in a day at Kochi, Kerala. This mall is so big that its so hard to see the full mall in one day. We went there but by that time Biryani got over in afternoon. So we visited their Kochi joint, address details below. Mutton Biryani Rs. 190 Address: durbar hall road, ernakulam, kochi Location: 🤍 After a very long and super enjoyable journey at Kochi, we planned to continue day 2 of our journey from Kochi to Munnar. Kochi Munnar Thekkady Trivandrum Poovar Kanyakumari Kovalam Alleppey Wayanad Kannur Calicut - now called Kozhikode Kochi - we ended our 18 day tour at Kochi. All this travel we did with 🤍 We had great time with them, driver was flexible, he had good knowledge on route and food joints too. Total cost we paid for daily running of 100 km was Rs 2000., timings 7 am to 8 pm… Rs 150 extra per hour after the drive timings, they gave us 10 km for every hour extra they charged us. Extra km charge Rs 13. We ended up paying about 45k for the journey. We got Swift Dzire. For any thing more in this regard, you may connect directly with them.

Drink Magicians - Easily some of the best bartenders in the world, Kochi is famous for their drink shows. They mix chilies and juice, and shake them so hard, they almost carbonate on their own. One of their signature moves is squirting milk as it splashes into your cup. 50 INR ($0.71) - About price per drink Finally, we ended this Indian street food tour of Kochi with hot chips - freshly fried Kerala banana chips. We started our vlog from one of the stylish homestays in Fort Kochi - Vasco House. Vasco House or Bilal's House or Big B Shooting Location is considered one of the major selfie points around Vasco da Gama square. Vasco House is located right behind the famous St. Francis Church. St. Francis church is one of the oldest European churches in India. The Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama died in Kochi in 1524 and his body was originally buried in St. Francis CSI church. We walked around the church for a while and then strolled through one of the beaches in Fort Kochi with many street vendors on and around the pavement. At one end of the beach you will see Chinese fishing nets. A close look at these traditional fishing nets to learn the history of Chinese fishing nets is among my list of unavoidable things to do in Fort Kochi. You can buy a fish from these Chinese fishing nets or buy your choice of catch from the nearby fish market. We bought a white snapper fish and half a kilogram of tiger prawns from a fish vendor there. 🧳 EBBIN: 🤍 🏠 CORAL ISLE HOTEL: 🤍 👕 DAVID’S BEEN HERE SHIRTS & MERCH: 🤍 After driving four hours from the mountain town of Munnar to the coastal city of Kochi, my seventh day in Kerala continued with an epic nighttime street food tour! Join me as I go on an Indian street food tour where I try prawn curry, an egg dosa, and mud chicken in Kochi, Kerala, India! My evening began at the Coral Isle Hotel, where I went to their rooftop Upper Berth restaurant, where I went to try their prawn curry. It contained six spices including chilies, coconut paste, black pepper, curry leaves, and onions. They sautéed them in a pan and then wrapped them up in a big banana leaf and then grilled it! The dish looked phenomenal and tasted even better! It contained an overload of coconut with the coconut paste and had a nice spiciness. It was still really hot but was so ridiculously tasty. It was sweet, succulent, and super delicious! I loved the chilies, black pepper, and other spices in it. There was some spiciness, but it wasn’t killer. I loved the coconut flavor and the flavor of the banana leaf, which had been infused into the dish! Then, I headed out and met up with Ebbin. On our way to get some mud-baked chicken, we came across a random vendor selling egg dosas out of the back of a tuk-tuk. They looked like the tata dosas I’d had in Varkala, like standard pancakes and had an egg mixture with onions, chilies, and other things added on top of it before flipping it! You eat them with sambar and tomato chutney. It was a nice dosa and had lots of peppers. If I hadn’t known it was a dosa, I would have thought it was straight scrambled eggs! I loved the pepper, and the tomato chutney was so juicy! I also loved the light sambar. Because this was a start-up food truck and egg dosas weren’t on their menu, they gave it to us free of charge. The people in India are so nice! Then, headed over to Midnight Chicken, a super popular spot that sells mud-baked chicken. We walked through the restaurant to a dining hall on the second level. Our waiter brought it and unwrapped the layers of foil and mud to reveal chicken and rice wrapped in a banana leaf! The chicken was so soft. It tasted like biryani with less rice. It wasn’t spicy at all. Then, I dipped it into a light but spicy chutney, followed by mayo, which was nice. I don’t love mayo, but this was fresh, house-made mayo. The mud and the banana leaf really changed the flavor! It was also super tender and the spice hit me later. It costs 630 rupees/$8.30 USD! Then, we headed to a stall selling chicken fry and beef dry fry. Beef dry fry is a specialty here in Kerala! The beef dry fry was chewy and had a nice, crunchy crust on it. I felt like I could eat a ton of it with some beer. The chicken contained a nice masala on it. It was one of the best fried chickens I’d ever had in India. It was right up there with Korean fried chicken and American fried chicken for me! Because it was now 10:15 p.m. on a Wednesday, our night ended before we could go anywhere else, but there are at least a dozen other great spots I would have loved to have visited.
